Next to Piazza Armerina, you will find “Villa Romana del Casale” declared World Heritage Site by Unesco, because it is the most important Roman monument of whole Sicily. This luxury hall belonged to the emperor Maximianus Herculeus, who made decorate the floors (3535mq) with a lot of polychrome mosaics. In these mosaics were painted scenes of mythology, hunting, daily life and sports activities.
